PSAT is used to facilitate the aspiration or infusion of fluids and sterile ophthalmic solutions in the back of the eye. The iTrack™ 370P microcatheter is inserted and advanced to the target area. Catheter location is confirmed by observing the illuminated tip through the pupillary aperture, and upon arrival at the specific site fluids can be aspirated or infused. Surgeon control is enhanced during the PSAT via the 5 mm increment depth markings on the distal end of the iTrack™ 370P. These precise markings provide a depth reference, so that microcatheter position and control can be maintained during initial insertion and prior to rotation of the eye for pupillary aperture visualization.
